It wasn't there...

Oh, that tooth, that cute little tooth, the one that we took such good care of...

Scout didn't need it any more. You see, he is 11 and growing into a fine young man.

A few days ago that cute little tooth fell out...

I went to find it under the pillow...

It wasn't there!

I'm a natural tooth fairy, I can't give it up so easily...

hmm, if I up the ante will the princess keep playing along, hmmm?

How much does the tooth fairy pay at your house?

Do you remember how much your tooth fairy gave you for a tooth when you were little?

This person received a dime but nowadays the first graders are reporting anywhere between $5 and $10 but don't ever ask two first graders at the first time or that amount may increase to whatever it takes to be the favorite of the tooth fairy!

Our tooth fairy always pays in coins...and it's always random, but usually in the $1.20 range. Guess it's just whatever coins she can find in mommy's purse and daddy's coin jar - - - cuz we are ALWAYS missing our coins the next morning. Weird that she'd steal from us like that! ;0)

The tooth fairy still visits my children too. Our 11 year old knows better, our boys either have no clue or they play along. She/he (usually she)leaves $1 unless they lose the tooth due to tragedy. Tragedy like when our daughter (now 11) falls on the kitchen floor (at the age of 2) and knocks out her front teeth. That night the tooth fairy wanted to leave $50!! But settled with $5 instead.
Very cute!

My 7 year-old doesn't believe in the tooth fairy. He is such a realist. He asked us when he lost his first tooth if the fairy was mom or dad. We just said we would never tell.
Anyway, for the first tooth we gave him $5. For the teeth since then, we give $1. When I was a kid, I am sure I got a quarter or two. I guess I would have to ask my parents to be sure, though.

One of my kiddos SWALLOWED two of his babay teeth! WE'VE ALWAYS PUT A COUPLE DOLLARS UNDER EACH OF THE KIDS PILLOWS. THEY HAVE LOVED IT! Oops, didn't mean to yell--caps were on and I am too lazy to retype!).

Our Tooth fairy is pretty cheap. She leaves a dollar and the some cents...whatever number tooth it was that is how many cents they get. if it is their 5th tooth then they get $1.05 from the tooth fairy. and a really cool letter with each tooth.

We haven't had any visits from the tooth fairy yet...just the sleep fairy! Frankly, my kids are still a little freaked out about their teeth falling out in a few more years...heehee!

I got only a quarter from the tooth fairy when I was younger. I'm not sure what teeth go for these days...I like what He and Me + 3 said above...I may borrow that when the time comes!

I used to get a quarter maybe 50 cents tops when I was a kid. We give either $2 dollar bills or a gold dollar, somthing different and special.

I never got much when I was kid. It was just fun finding something under my pillow.

The tooth fairy left a quarter for each tooth when we were coming along. It was so much the money that excited us, just knowing that the quarter was her calling card was enough excitement for us.
