Discipline when Daddy is a (former) teacher...

Have a nasty 'tude or bad behavior at my house and you will find yourself…

writing sentences

("There will be no more red ink in my binder reminder"=No more daily bad notes from teacher)

OR

writing an essay.
(I do not recall the infraction that this "S.A." was written for)

Wow, does it work magic. Things turn around pretty quickly!

Of course, my little angels are so wonderful that this rarely happens ;)

Do you have a special discipline trick up your sleeve?

*Parental Disclaimer: This fine tradition was started by fire hubby’s dad and did not scar him. Fire hubby went on to have such a love of writing that he got his Masters in English and became a professional writer!

I usually just scream & hollar. Maybe I should try your trick with Sassy. I'll probably still end up screaming & hollaring.

Well, my dad wasn't a former teacher, but he still came up with things like this as a form of punishment for me. I remember one time when I was about 13 years old and I snuck out of a friend's house w/ her and another girl...my dad saw us. I was so in for it. Along with being grounded for all eternity (I think I'm technically still supposed to be grounded), he also made me write a three page essay over why what I did was wrong and why I would NEVER do it again.

I'm pretty sure I'll use some of my dad's ideas on Isaiah when it comes time.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

This is a great way to discipline them, I may try this in my household! Hubby's a teacher too and I am sure he probably will go along with this!!
Have a great weekend!!

That's too funny! Hey, whatever works, right? I usually just yell but I can easily see myself doing the essay thing when they're a little older!

We always have some leverage laying around. This coming weekend, it's the birthday "swim" party So has been invited to. I have been using it ALL week, and So has been angel.

Since So spends half her days using paper for random drawings and odd stories, I just can not afford to use any more paper - and I do not want to contribute to tree killing.

But great idea...

We've done the same in our house many a times!!! =0)

Our boys especially hate writing lines.

Good for you, Mom!
