'Tis the Season

Hey there, I know I am preaching to the choir... but,

  • Why would a school have a science fair project due a couple weeks before Christmas?
  • Why me a boss give me an important deadline now?
  • Why would another of my bosses set a very important bereavement teleconference that I have to go to when I am so very busy??
  • Why would my scout have a court of honor this week?
  • Why would I schedule an eye doctor appointment-duh?

Don't they know I am drowning with...

  • The children's Christmas performance (and all the rehearsals that go with it!)
  • Going to the American Girl Store (fun)
  • Getting ready for my brother's wedding reception here in America :)
  • Having a white elephant (hilarious)
  • Going to my bro-in-law's 5oth. (nice, but included 100 mile drive in torrential rain to get there and a night in a hotel to avoid falling asleep at the wheel while driving home at midnight 100miles in torrential rain)
  • Prepping for a Christmas children's present giveaway.
  • Going to my department Christmas party (at least trying to get there...long story)
  • Having the most amazing support group Christmas gathering. We had 18 people come and made the most darling Christmas ornaments to remember their babies with.

This on top of all the usual...

  • Doing my best to care of home and family
  • Working shifts
  • Trying to take care of me...not enough exercise and good eating!
  • Completely failing at being a good blogger

Time to slow it way, way, way down!

Now, I will put my focus on this...

Ahhhhh, true peace

I hear you. This time of year can be absolutely crazy busy. I'm glad you stopped in the middle of it all and refocused.

I think we can all relate to how much seems to get pushed in the days just before Christmas. It would be nice to see things slow down but that is not the world in which we live.

Breathe in and breathe out, Julie...we're all in the same boat. However, as you said, we have to focus on the REAL reason for this wonderful Christmas season!

So true...amongst all the hustle and bustle of this season we need to stop and focus on that Baby. That is pure peace and joy! Hope you find time to get everything done my friend.

True peace is right. Hope things slow down for you soon! It is such a busy season for everyone. Hoping we can all just take a breather and remember the reason for the season.

Merry CHRISTmas!♥

Amen, my sweet sister. My bloggy friend Deb had a post At the Well today that you will truly enjoy (in all of your spare time....). Go here: http://www.titus2atthewell.com/2009/12/it-doesnt-need-to-be-difficult.html
for a continuation of this theme. And I am SO with you.. why.. WHY do all of these people and groups schedule all of this "stuff" right now? Don't they realize that we would enjoy it MUCH more a week or two before the crazy... when we can actually BREATHE? yeeesh. Loved your post... and your focus...

Ahh, you got me with that last part.

You are so right... I have my lists - a million things that "need" to get done.

And in the middle of it all is a young mom and her very own miracle.

You always get me where it counts.

Blessed CHRISTmas to you too my friend!

Awwwww, it's so HARD to slow down at this time of year. I know the feeling.

Hey, I did my own personal "Story from the delivery room" today, so be sure to check it out when you get a chance. I thought of you as I wrote it all out. =0)

Oh Julie, I just wrote a post about how my week has been a busy one and then I thought I'd try (try is the word here:) to catch up on some blog reading and I read this. Girl, your week/month just blew mine outta the water! Hope you've had a few moments of things being slow!
It's hard to focus on the real reason for the season when things are crazy busy and you can't do anything about it!
