Where's Firehubby?

Some of you have asked where Firehubby was in the Fourth of July pix.

Well, welcome to the life of the fire/nurse family...someone always works on the holidays.

Actually, this is not a complaint...really. It's just the way it is for us. Our normal.

Firehubby just sent this twitpic...he just arrived at this fire. It could be awhile before we see him!

Hope you are having a terrific long weekend!

Ah, I know, this is the FIRST 4th that Scott has taken in seriously 30 years, we honestly couldn't remember a time that he was home, but if it was in his power, he always has been off on my birthday with is the 3rd, this year, super suprise, hoping to blog about it! Will keep firehubby in my thoughts and prayers....and you too ....I almost "dread" this time of year, we never know how long it will be between "visits"....lolol....take care my friend......deb

Covering him (and you!) in prayer... I am so, so grateful for firemen, policemen, soldiers, and anyone else who willingly puts their life on the line so the rest of us can be safe. There's just something incredibly special about people who will run TOWARDS danger...
Blessings...

I would imagine your hubby is quite busy on the Fourth of July! Thank you both for your service on the holidays. :)

I know how that goes, Julie. Sometimes we both work 4th of July.

Awesome picture! Praying all were safe. I have to say, I sort of miss working weekends and holidays. There was a certain level of serving that went along with it, and the patients were always so appreciative.

I hope he returns home safe and sound very soon. The pics down below look like you all had a great time...I love the pics of the kids' tongues dyed by the icies!!

I imagine there are a lot of fires on July 4th weekend, especially if you are as stupid as my neighbor who threw HOT coals into his garbage can. He should have twit-pic'd that because he is a twit.

FINALLY! I have been trying to post a comment to you for a few days now and kept getting that dumb "aboted" message from blogger! Frustrating!

Looks like you had a fabulous 4th. Fire Hubby was on duty this year. Things were fairly quiet around here as his city cancelled fire works due to budget issues (such a shame in my opinion...what is a veteran's life worth?...certainly a fireworks show!)

Anyway, so glad you had a safe holiday with your loved ones!

Take care,
Valerie

Hi Julie - I don't know if Brian mentioned we were acquaintances in High School. I say acquantainces bcs I liked him but he was a tad - shall we say - prickly?? Anyway, been off the grid for a bit with a big family reunion, but just wanted to say I caught up with you and really enjoyed yr pictures. My guy got 6 Merit badges b4 he quit Scouts. Loved it. Sad to see it go, but he is so busy in yr round sports, its hard. Anyway, as my friend said, "It's a great organization bcs it does no harm." Kathleen Hollingsworth

We have a few friends who are firefighters so they work the odd days and hours too. They were handy to have around at a BBQ, though!

Come on over and I'll chase the pop down the hill again, lol!
