True Story Tuesday

Rachel at Once Upon a Miracle is such an awesome bloggy friend that I cannot resist joining her in her really fun blog carnival...
When I was a nurse in Hawaii, I had a roommate and he was so cute. We actually shared a bed. He slept in it when I wasn’t home.

It has crossed my mind that he may have snuck into bed with me at night, when I was actually home. But it really gives me the heebeegeebees to think about it.

Now firehubby is gonna be so mad that I posted his picture (and even told this story), but, I tell you this guy was special to me!

He was my own little gecko (maybe I was his "own girl" as he lived there before me).

He was actually a better roomie than in my previous Hawaiian condo, but that will have to wait for another TSTuesday!

Ok, Ok, this is not actually him. But, I'll bet this is his cousin.

Come on, the guy was adorable!

Who can resist those awesome little feet.

There was one big down-side to having him as my roommate:

Every morning that I came back from work, I had to change my pillow case. My roomie always left me a special "present" to show how much he loved me.

Ok, that was not so cute, or sweet!

Yep, this is my true story!

I know your day wouldn't have been the same without hearing it ")

Happy Tuesday!

OK, Julie, let me just say here that I don't do reptiles, amphibians, any kind of slinky, slimy creature! So, you are way more woman than I'll ever be!

I would NOT have allowed him in my bed! Guess we have different taste in, ahem, men. ;-)

What a great roomie. No dirty dishes or clothes left around. The pillowcase thing I suppose could be overlooked:)

I have to say when you started this I thought to myself "well, isn't she a liberal minded woman!" ha ha!

Love it! When Chase and I lived in Florida for 2 years I remember first moving there from the land of OZ and seeing those little guys for the first time. I was intrigued by how fast they were. We tried for days to catch them. Finally, after about a month I came home from work to an upside down Mayo jar on the bar and a little note. It said, "Let me free after you see." I did.

All of these silly people.. geckos are wonderful! I'm sure you can guess (I'm the boa lady) that we have a leopard gecko now. He lives in an aquarium and is MUCH bigger than the one in your picture, but he's a sweetie. I LOVED your story.. and I was totally surprised when I saw the pic!

LOL - you totally had me going. But ewwwww.... that is disgusting. I'm totally creeped out by crawly critters. I would've had to sleep on the couch, LOL. Funny story though!

Just like a man, leaves his mess behind for you to clean up. Cute story. I had my share of Geckos while in Kenya. Although they were much larger. You learn to let them do their own thing and they do help to keep the house bug free. Bonus as a roommate. Maybe your husband will let you get one to carry on the origanal's memory.

Okay, so this is how lame I am today (I'm blaming it on lack of healthy food because my kids don't give me a moment's peace to eat), I thought you were talking about an actual person and that the pic was of the person's finger, with a little tiny lizard on it. Then it occurred to me that the roomie WAS the lizard. Oh man, I need some coffee....and quick.

My roommate in Hawaii was not quite as cute. It was a family of cockroaches. They showed love by scurrying at me when I was making my morning coffee. Sadly, I did not have a gecko.

Jen said...

I will admit that he is cute but I am not a lizard girl so you can totally keep him

You are such a hoot! So, seriously...there are creatures in the rooms in Hawaii? I'm not a camping girl for a reason, so I've always thought a vacation in Hawaii in a nice hotel would be best. Maybe not!
