Valentine's Day is Not for Everyone...

Firehubby and I went to the most fabulous bed and breakfast many years ago. We wanted to avoid the Valentine's Day rush, so we went a bit early.

We realized that it was Ground Hog Day and that's how our crazy tradition was born.

Sooooooo...

I have to admit (shock!) I made up that whole

"Ground Hog Day is for Lovers" thing.

But I think it's catchy :)

(and it's much easier to get dinner reservations)

Wishing a Happy Valentine's Day to all of you "traditional" folks ;)

RCC and I don't celebrate Valentine's day either. We didn't "meet" until the 16th, so we celebrate our anti-valentine's day instead. Know the best part? Half price candy!!!

I like that as long as the groundhog doesn't see his shadow! By Groundhog Day I'm generally sick and tired of winter!

Welcome back my friend! Good to hear from you. Blogging has been on the back burner for me but since I love photography so much the 365 keeps me going with blogging and photography. Works for me.
I love your Ground Hogs day tradition. Super cute. We don't really do Valentine's Day but have nothing against it...money spending priorities changed once the kids got her. LOL

love it! Hubby and I refuse to celebrate Valentine's day. Instead I go the day or two after for the chocolate on sale, lol!

I think it is a great tradition! Besides, you beat the crowds.... dining at your favorite restaurant on Valentine's Day always leaves a little something to be desired. The staff is always rushed and it is super crowded...... Hope you had a Happy Ground Hog Day~

Love your tradition! Sitting and waiting in a crowd for overpriced food sounds anti-romantic anyway :)

Happy V-Day!

I love traditions and it's the ones we create on our own that mean the most!

I think it's awesome that you buck the trend and celebrate with the rodent like underground living animals. So romantic! :) We went out on Saturday - had a great time! xoxo

Thanks for stopping by every so often and not completely giving up on me. I miss writing and reading blogs as well ... including and ESPECIALLY yours! Hopefully I can make more time :)

How special and romantic. :) Have you been back to the bed and breakfast?

I'd love to have that cupcake right now. :)

my folks celebrate like that too....mostly because it's their anniversary on Groundhogs day! :)
I don't care for Valentines, so your idea might just be what we could do...
