~hugging~

When you hug your kiddos are you usually the first to let go?

That used to be me.

Now, I remind myself to hug as long as they need.

Especially at my kid's current ages (11 & 13), it makes for a special moment and connection.

I often get the sweetest smiles after.

It's easy in this rushed world to hurry things up...

sometimes even affection.

Don't forget to hug someone you love today :)

Thanks for the reminder. In the rush of everything I forget, but now that my daughters have been with grandma in AZ for the last two weeks - all I want to do is hug them and sqeeze them and never let go.

Good thought. Too bad my almost-16-year-old won't let me hug him. Actually, he doesn't like being touched at all.

He leaves for a week of camp in the morning and I'm hoping he will allow me to hug him goodbye!

You are so right, my friend. There is no time like the present to let your love overflow... "later" may be too late. Sending YOU a bloggy hug... xoxoxo...

You know I never actually thought about this but I do believe I'm the one to break the hug first when hugging my kids.

Thanks for this reminder...I need to make sure to hold on to them for as long as they'll let me!

It just depends...sometimes I'm the one holding onto Isaiah as he tries to wiggle away, but sometimes it's me trying to stand up as he's hanging on to my neck. He wins. He's getting so big. I want every last second of big-squeezy-hugs I can get. Kisses too. I'll take what I can get! :)

Oh I think my little man is always the first to try and squirm away! lol I cant get enough of him. I know what you mean though. I am sure its so much easier to give them tons of kisses and hugs when they are tiny and you are carrying them all the time. When they get bigger it changes. I wish he would stop growing so stinkin fast!

What a nice post.

I was at the grocery store with my 8 year old the other day, and she was freezing in the freezer aisle. So I grabbed her in a big bear hug to warm her up, and it I just didn't feel like letting go to soon. Both of us aren't the huggy type like my other daughter and husband are, but I'm pretty sure we both liked it.

Thanks for the reminder. My kids think they're outgrowing hugging. Ha! They don't know!
