Seattle 2010

We did it!
For the first time in 5 years we got away together...just the two of us.
We had a wonderful time in Seattle!

*Caution...you are about to see the overuse of the word amazing!

We stayed at the Inn at the Market.

We had the most wonderful view from our room!

We enjoyed some fine Washington wines...
and the most amazing treat from the amazing shop,
the Chocolate Box.

Whale watching off of the San Juan Islands was a dream come true.
The Orcas changed course and went right under the boat.
That is Brian at the front right getting a spray from the blow holes!
Amazing!

Can you guess where we took this photo from?
Yep, the space needle.
Wow, what a view!

We spent much time at the Public Market.
The flowers, fruit, seafood, wine, cheese, fresh breads...
amazing!
I'm hungry just writing this post :)

Not to mention the hours spent gazing at this amazing view...

We had a chance to meet some bloggy friends.

It really is wonderful to see people in person.

I'm telling you, it felt so natural to hang out...
like we really have know each other for a while.

What a great experience.

(Just like when I met Tarah, from Eyeglasses and Endzones, after I went to the Mayo Clinic in MN, last summer.
She is another of my bloggy friends who I will always feel a special connection to.)

I am so excited that I got to meet the Mighy M Family :)

(Thanks for letting me steal photos from you blog :)
How did I not get pix of you?
And my pix of the kids were blurry...darn!)
What a little cherub!
She is just darling...we became BFF's :)

Brian and Mr. Daddy from Once Upon a Miracle.
Couldn't be a nicer guy.

Rachel, from Once Upon a Miracle, with Itty-bit.
Oh my she is just awesome!

How I wish we lived nearby...
I think we would spend a lot of time together!

Oh yes, and Mr. Itty-Bit!
He is my other new BFF.
We had so much fun at dinner!
Here he is posing for me.

*AMAZING- the funny thing is that I didn't realize that I had written "amazing" so many times until I read my post over the first time. LOL!

In the week since I've been back I have been:
  • Thanking God for protecting me from a crazed psycho drug addict freak (come back for True Story Tuesday to find out what the heck I am referring to)
  • Getting the kids settled and ready for the final weeks of school
  • Working in L&D
  • Catching up on my bereavement role
  • Having an emergency root canal!

Glad to be back
I will be by to see you very soon :)

I think we'd be AMAZING buddies for regular coffee/ice cream chats :)

And your visit truly sounded AMAZING. I love that you guys got to have that orca experience!

God bless - and look us up any time you're headed our way again!

(Bring the kids sometime - we'll keep 'em busy with quads and horses while you two get away!)

Very fun that you got away together. I just posted our 15th anniversary get away. It was amazing and so relaxing to just be a couple and not worry about parenting.

How fun to meet some bloggy friends!

Loved all your pics! You are such a cutie in your glasses!!!

I bet the sights and sounds were just amazing! I have yet to visit the Pacific Northwest or New England...hoping to make it to those destinations in the next few years.

Hope everything else is good, otherwise!

Congrats on getting away. ;) That is hard to do sometimes. That's great you saw orcas. When I lived in Seattle I never saw a single one. Something I feel like I missed. Ah well, I try to tell myself horses make up for it. LOL

Nice shots of the visit with Rachel and family. :)

Julie, It is very fun to see your pics from your get away with your hubby. My husband and I took a trip to Port Townsend several years ago. It is such an encouragment and blessing to see a married couple taking time out to nurture and enjoy each other. Thanks for sharing your joy
