Where is the mom...

...in wifemomnurse

It’s not easy being the mom these days…

Lots of bad attitudes

Extreme unkindness between siblings

Nothing is done without being asked...

It reminds me of last summer in Minneapolis. I was so fed up with the kids that when I met wonderful fellow blogger ,Tarah from Eyeglasses and Endzones, I didn’t even have her meet my kids. Now that is bad!

There will be better days…better phases.

But when I look up at this picture as I go up the stairs…

my heart melts...

and my heart softens.

And I remind myself how sweet the princess is when she wakes up in the morning and still comes to my bed for snuggles.

And I remind myself how sweet my boy is at the end of the day and wants to talk. And how he loves to go to Starbucks on Tuesdays when he gets out early and his sister is still in school. I always ask about each period at school and he shares everything with me. And then he always asks “So Mom, how’d it going?”

And I then I am reminded what a treasure my kids are and how much I treasure being the mom in wifemomnurse.

Beautiful children! You seem like a great mom. Kids just act like kids sometimes! They'll be best friends when they grow up!

Love to you
Beth

Awww, I can see why looking at that picture melts your heart. They look so sweet (but they all look that way when they're having their picture taken, don't they?)

Julie...I think all kids go through times when things don't go as smoothly as we'd like...that's life for you! However, we need to keep reminding ourselves to be grateful for all the "little things" our children bring our way to make our world a little brighter. You have 2 beautiful kids...and they're so lucky to have you!

Oh my friend.....I totally know what you are talking about. In the midst of being talked back to, being taken for granted and feeling like a welcome mat......I find myself needing to remember the other 90% of the time that my 16 and 18 year old sons will hug me at a high school basketball game.....or my 12 yo still makes me cards.......or my little girl telling me that I am her BFF.

We all have times like these.....{{{hugs}}}

Your children are just gorgeous....just like their mama!

Oh sweet heart...you are NOT a bad mommy!!!! I know how it is when you are traveling and everyone is kinda ready for their own separate corners after being stuck in hotel rooms!!! You know that I know you were keeping those beautiful kids to yourself because I might have abducted them and smooched all over them!!!!! ;)

LOVE YOU!

They are so adorable, that is such a lovely picture.

My kids make me rip my hair out sometimes, but they also make me want to suffocate them with hugs and kisses.

The days may seem long, but the years are oh so short! I imagine they will grow up to be great friends! :)

I completely know how you feel! Frustration can be so strong and then the memories of the truth of who our kids really are make our heart melt and we are "sweet" mommy again. Pictures of them from when they were really little, all dressed up and cute help too. :)

Gosh, I remember the days, Now, that I think about it, shoot, will be going through it again! I have to say that teenagers are the hardest, sweetest, want to....eeeehhh....creatures that there are....but then, they grow up, and live, and learn and you have the sweetest friends of your lifetime. I am praying that Sean will be easier, but, seriously, besides the fact that I "know alot of the signs, symptoms and remedies" am hoping that I survive the experience.

My advice, if you want it....always, always be consistent and stay united with your hubby, never waiver, never let them see you "sweat" lol....You are the parent, and you will survive, the question is.....will they...lolol......Stay strong my friend :)

That is so beautiful. My daughter and I argued for 4 hours last week.
We both apologized and moved on because none of it mattered, we love each other always.
