Not so part-time!

I have missed you all lately.

This upcoming trip to the Mayo Clinic has kept me busy.

I have needed to focus on getting things in order with my work. I worked perinatal bereavement six out of seven days (so much for part-time!). This included my 12 hour Labor and Delivery shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

Additionally, I have been trying to get my mind in order. I have struggled with discouragement and a lack of faith in getting better. In order to try to find the best doctors to give me a second opinion, I have read many articles and professional journals. The information on anaphylaxis prevention and on reactions to fragrances did not leave me with the impression that there was much that could be done.

But, then I found great encouragement in God’s word…

Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Being a nurse and having the knowledge that I do, I think that I can figure things out myself. God is in control here. He created me and He can fix me.

He can use the doctor’s knowledge to heal me. Or He can just do it Himself.

Clearly, I cannot do it on my own, I cannot even begin to figure out my problem. I cannot lean on my own understanding.

But, I can have faith in Him. I can trust Him.

We leave for the Mayo next Monday. Did I mention we are going to bring the kids. They are very excited to go to a "new" state, stay in a hotel, and swim every day. They are also thrilled that we will be visiting the Mall of America!

I will have more posts before then.

Now, I look forward to coming over to see what has been happening with you.

I hope you are enjoying your summer!

I am passing my good luck on to you, as I'm almost done with it.

The stairs won on May 26th and I got an open fracture of my right tibia.

Six operations and three weeks of hospitalizations later-- MRSA.

However- as of today, my plastics guy LOVES the state of the skin graft he did on me last Friday, and assuming the ortho guy is just as happy with things come next Monday, I'll get cleared to return to work.

So I'm passing my good luck (MRSA excepted) to you, and hope you have the chance to pass it along to someone else when you're done with it.

Sending lots of positive thoughts and best wishes for a successful and fun/safe trip.

I'm sure walking in your shoes is difficult...being a nurse and yet not being able to find the answers you are looking for!

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers and asking our Heavenly Father to provide your doctors with the wisdom necessary to make things better!

Blessings,
Val

Well, at least you are getting to make the most of your trip and make some family memories! The Mall of America sounds like a great place to go.

Wow, so much for part time alright! I think you must have found great strength from that verse, I mean, even you, a phenomenal nurse needs a little lift every now and then again.

I hope you have a wonderful time during your remaining time there.

Favorite verse there, Julie.. and it's come to MY mind several times this past week. I'll pray for travel mercies and a productive visit for you; my sis in law had some digestive issues that just couldn't be figured out here; she went to Mayo and they got it worked out. There are truly some amazing doctors there, but what matters most is that you're taking the Great Physician along for the ride.
big hugs........

Good to hear from you. You have been working A LOT!

I'll be praying for your trip and Mayo visit, that they can find a way to help you.

Glad you're leaning on God, instead of only trusting in man!

I've wondered where you were, but it seems lately a lot of people aren't posting as much. Must be the nice weather. Would you believe we had 70's here in the midwest a few weeks back?!? Crazy weather this summer.

Thank you for your nice comments. It's the figuring out what gets to healthy baby, healthy mom that I'm wrestling with.

Good day, sun shines!
There have were times of troubles when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never thought that there weren't any need in large starting capital.
Nowadays, I'm happy and lucky , I begin take up real money.
It's all about how to select a proper companion who uses your money in a right way - that is incorporate it in real deals, and shares the income with me.

You can ask, if there are such firms? I have to tell the truth, YES, there are. Please get to know about one of them:
